Prayer for Priests
Most gracious and loving Father,
We thank you for our faithful priests whose
spiritual fatherhood and example of fidelity, self-sacrifice, and
devotion is so vital to the faith of your people. May they be
guided by the examples of Saints Peter and Paul and all the
apostles. Give them valiant faith in the face of confusion and
conflict, hope in time of trouble and sorrow, and steadfast love for
you, for their families, and for all your people throughout the
world. May the light of your Truth shine through their lives and
their good works. Assist all priests, that that through your
Grace they may steadily grow in holiness and in knowledge and
understanding of your Truth. May they generously share their
knowledge with those who rely on them. We ask this through Christ
our Lord. Amen

All children from k – 10 must register for
Religious Education each year. The registration does not
roll over from one year to the next. We will be mailing a
registration form through e-mail in the near future. If you have
not received a form by mid-August it is because we do not have your
e-mail address or perhaps you are not yet registered in the parish so
we do not have any pertinent information related to you family.
You can call the office between Monday –Thursday at 483-8481 to update
your e-mail info or you can pick up a registration in the entrance of
the church.
Grades K- 3 The children in
grades K – 3 attend classes during the weekend liturgies. We use
a Lectionary Catechesis which is based on the Gospel of the week.
Kindergarten students are not obliged to attend regularly. However
beginning with grade 1, students must attend classes on a weekly basis
during the Mass, as the program for 1st Communion is a two year
program. The program for the school year 2009-2010
will begin on the weekend of September 19th and 20th.
Classes are held during both weekend Masses. We would need some
volunteers to help out as monitors during the classes. Please
contact the office if you can do this.
Grades 4 – 10 +, Generation of Faith
This program is designed for both parents and
children. Parents who have children in grades 4 - 10 are
asked to attend these monthly sessions. The adult session gives them an
opportunity to refresh their memory on important matters of the faith
as well as giving them the chance to share with other adults on
pertinent issues of faith. All GoF classes
are held on Sundays from 4 – 6 pm. Our next class will be
held on February 14th.
Confirmation Program:
The Confirmation students will begin their two year
program on Sunday, September 27, 2009. All
students must be
registered by September 27th. Second year students must have
completed year one in full, i.e., two classes per month from September
through April.
Attendance at Generation of Faith only does
not satisfy the requirements for Confirmation. All students are
also asked to attend Mass on a weekly basis. If students have not
yet registered they must now wait for next year’s program as it is too
late to complete this year’s requirements.

Question of the Week
4th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Theme: (The Way of Love)
Reading: Jeremiah 1:4-5, 17-19 (I Am with
You)
Reading II: Corinthians 12: 31-13:13 (A More
Excellent Way)
Gospel: : Luke 4: 21- 30 (Speaking in the synagogue)
Question
for Adults:
What keeps me from acting with love? What can I do to change my
attitude and behavior in these situations?
There can be so many things that keep us from acting in a loving
manner. It can be fatigue, impatience, intolerance, anger, pride
and the list goes on. The only way to check this is by spending
some time in prayer and reflection on the matter. If you notice
that there are time when you have more difficulty loving, try to see
what precipitated the event and pray about it. Ask God to help
you in this situation. Pray for peace and patience in your
life. We all need some of that don’t we?
Question
for Children:
What are three things I can do this week to act as a loving
person? This is a great time to sit down with your child to
talk about being a loving person. The winter season brings up
good examples of people who are less fortunate than us. There is
also the fact that the media is filled with news about the earthquake
in Haiti. I am sure you can come up with examples of people who
need loving in your family and community. The family is always a
good place to start.
Our Food Pantry If you would like to
help our food pantry, we especially need Canned Soup, Tuna, Instant
Rice and Potatoes, canned pastas and Spaghetti sauce. We can
always use juice. Thank you so much for your generosity.
You have no idea how appreciative people are when they come and we have
something to offer.
Job Announcment: The New Hampshire
Children’s Trust Fund/Prevent Child Abuse New Hampshire is looking for
an applied research and evaluation professional to join our team.
Please send your resume, responses to the following
essay questions and contact information for three references to info@NHCTF.org by February 1,
2010. Hard copies will NOT be accepted. Interviews will
take place the week of February 1. No phone calls please.
There is a copy of the education/skills
requirements as well as a more detailed job description posted on the
bulleting board in the entrance of the church. You can also check
out the website at www.nhctf.org Please
keep in mind that your window of opportunity is very short. We
only received this info a week ago and the bulletin was already
printed.
