Grades K – High School
All children from grade K – 10 must register.
The registration does not roll
over from one year to the next. You can pick up a form in the
back of the church or you can visit the parish office Monday – Thursday
during office hours or give us a call at 483-8481 and ask us to mail
you a form. We would be happy to do this
Grades K- 3 The children in
grades K – 3 attend classes during the weekend liturgies. We use
a Lectionary Catechesis which is based on the Gospel of the week.
Kindergarten students are not obliged to attend regularly.
However, beginning with grade l, students must attend classes on a
weekly basis as the program for 1st Communion is a two year
program. It is vital that students continue with their Christian
Formation even after their 1st Communion. This year’s
program will
begin on September
15, 2007
Grades 4 – 10 + This year’s
program for the Generations of Faith begins on Sunday, October 7,
2007 at 4:00 pm. This program is designed for both parents
and children. Parents are asked to attend the sessions as they
have the opportunity to refresh their memory on important matters of
the faith . Please join us on one Sunday per month. Next
Month's session is on Nov. 4th. All Confirmation candidates
are expected to attend all sessions.

Attention all Parishioners:
Religious Education teachers
needed
Our parish is in great need of men and women who
would like to give some of their time to the ministry of Christian
Formation. We are in need of teachers for the younger children as
well as the middle school aged program. If you think you could
assist us in this important ministry but you have questions or
reservations, please call Lorette at 483-8481 or feel free to send us
an e-mail at stpaulcandia@comcast.net
The commitment for the younger children is
simply an
8 week session.
Question of the Week
30th
Sunday in Ordinary Time
Theme: (Humbled in Faith)
Reading 1: Sirach 35:12-14, 16-18 (The Prayer of the Lowly )
Reading 2: 2Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18 (Keeping the Faith)
Gospel: Luke 18: 9-14 (The Pharisee and the Tax Collector)
Question
for Adults:
In what areas of my life do I try to appear to be perfect? How
might humility be more liberating in these circumstances?
Humility is probably the most misunderstood virtue in all of
Christianity. This problem dates back many centuries. The real
meaning of the virtue of humility is simply to recognize that our gifts
and talents were given to us by God. They are not
self-given. We do not give ourselves intelligence or
talents. This being said, humility does not mean that we should
deny that we have these gifts or talents. Since God gave them to
us we should make every effort to use them for the good of
humanity. The problem comes when we honestly believe that we are
solely responsible for our own gifts and that God has nothing to do
with the situation. We begin to ignore God and live as though we
are the center of the universe. If we understand humility for
what it really is, we will not try to be perfect. We will simply
try to use our talents to the best of our ability. Are
there areas in your life where you feel you are flying solo?
Where is God in the picture?
Question
for the Teens:
Humility is a virtue or a good practice that everyone should
practice. Do you often feel as though you are not perfect enough, for
example, in your grades in school? Or do you sometimes feel
better than others because you get better grades? If
you don’t quite understand the meaning of Humility why not take a
minute to read about it in the above adult question. Then take
some time to think about your own attitude in relation to your God
given gifts.
Question
for Children? How can I show humility each time I do
something really well?
Take some time to discuss the idea of gifts and
talents with your child. Explain to him/her that they received
these talents, along with the gift of life, from God. Lead them
to the understanding that we should not brag about our
accomplishments. Rather, we should thank God for the ability to
do what we do.
Praying for the Unborn
Every first Saturday of the month there is a group
of people who
gather in front of the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Manchester and
spend some time in silent prayer for the women who are seeking a wise
and healthy solution to their pregnancies. If you would like to
join
us in this time of prayer, contact Julie, by e-mail
jlaugh@aspi.net
and perhaps you could car pool. The group will meet from 10am –
12
noon this coming Saturday, Nov. 3rd.

walker or aluminum crutches or canes that are no longer needed?

Please help us help those in need by donating used collapsible
wheelchairs and walkers, metal canes an crutches.
Volunteers to help pick up donated items are also
needed. If you
can help or for more information call: Cindy Leonard, New England
Regional Coordinator at 508-653-3743 or Nancy Maloney, New Hampshire
Coordinator at 603-587-0065. Nancy lives in Candia.
