Two Anthologies  (*Updated: Oct. 14, 2022)

The English Series:

Vol. 1  Energy and Environment: The spiritual-human-material nexus

*This distillation of Theology of Energies encapsulates the reality of God's Divine Energy, angelic energy, saintly energy, human energy, diabolic energy, and physical energy. In terms of these different types of energy, this work delves into the interrelational nexus or bond among the spiritual, human, and material dimensions of our personal, social, and cosmic environments. Simultaneously, it encourages us to practice daily activation of God's omnipresent Divine Energy through prayers, Sacraments, and a virtuous life, etc., for the blessing of ourselves and others. The design of the book cover is by Mrs. Carmen Lee. No more paper copy is available in the store. Praise be to the Holy Spirit! (Update: *May 28, 2020)

Vol. 4  Radiation of the Holy Eucharist

Click vol. 4 for the slightly revised electronic copy, courtesy of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist. There have been so many good comments on this volume. For example, a senior Rev. professor in the U.S. says that he absolutely loves this book. Another Canadian Catholic lady says it is smashing. (These are North American expressions for something truly excellent.) Hence, feel free and enjoy it! The design is by Mrs. Carmen Lee. No more paper copy is available in the store. Vol. 6  *Exploring the Charismatic Spectrum of Charismata: From the Catholic Viewpoint

Being an inspiration to the future development of Catholic Charismatic Theology, the electronic copy here (courtesy of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist) as well as its paper copy are published for the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist (基督聖體恩寵研究所 in Chinese). A grateful word is due to the intercession of the Patron Saints of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist *and of the Catholic Theology of Energies (Qis), as well as to Mrs. Carmen Lee the designer of the book cover and the prayers of many brothers and sisters in Christ. Vol. 7  *What is Catholic Theology of Energies?

By the grace of God, this booklet has offered some significant introductory answers, acting as a bridge towards the composition on the research and development of Catholic Theology of Energies or Qis, i.e., for both the Chinese and the English version on doing research and development of this Catholic Theology. Further, the paper copy has been published in loving memory of Rev. Prof. Emeritus Aloysius B. CHANG, S.J., (1929-2015), as well as for the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist. Praise and thanks be to the Most Holy Trinity and Its whole evangelical Marian and Eucharistic Family of Holy Angels and Saints! (Feb. 8, 2016, *updated June 4, 2020)

Vol. 8  *Familization of the Totality of Reality: An Interpretation of Petro Bilaniuk's Concept of Eschatological Fulfillment

Here is the electronic copy of the book. Since this is just a Th.M. thesis written more than 25 years ago, only a limited number of paper copies have been printed. Nevertheless, despite all its imperfections, such as its negligence on discussing the existence of Purgatory and Hell, this monograph has great historical and theological values for the development of the present Catholic Theology of Energies. Therefore, this work is dedicated gratefully to the Most Holy Trinity and Its whole Family of Holy Angels and Saints, as well as to Rev. Prof. Michael Lapierre, S.J., (1914-2015), Emeritus Prof. Thomas Langan (1929-2012), Rev. Fr. James Duffy, M.H., (1926-2014), Dr. Isabel A. Messey ( 2015), and Ms. Maria De Manche ( 2016). Praise and thanks be to the Most Holy Trinity and Its whole evangelical Marian and Eucharistic Family of Holy Angels and Saints! (March 11, 2017)

Vol. 9  *Faith Seeking Understanding and Mysticism of God's Divine Energy: East and West in the Third Millennium

*This volume is put together for three important purposes. First, it is in profound thanksgiving to the Most Holy Trinity for having been graciously sustaining and blessing Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist for 35 years (1985-2020). Second, it is in grateful honor of the Patron Saints for Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist, for its website, as well as for the future development of the present Catholic Theology of Energies (Qis). Third, it is, on the one hand, in great tribute to the academic works of Rt. Rev. Prof. Petro B. T. Bilaniuk (1932-1998), the co-founder and former advisor of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist (1985-1996), which have been taken quite seriously recently at the Sheptytsky's Institute, Faculty of Theology, University of St. Michael's College, University of Toronto. On the other hand, it is in loving memory of Prof. Vincent Shen (1949-2018), the supervisor of the author's Ph.D. thesis (2004-2008) as well as a wonderful occasional advisor of the current Catholic Theology of Energies (Qis) project (2004-2018). Our prayerful loving memory is also due very much to Miss Margaret Catherine "Peggy" Dillon (1939-2020), a former dedicated committee member of Grace Institute (1995-2015). Finally, a truly grateful word of thanksgiving is due to the two wonderful proofreaders of this work, i.e., Emeritus Prof. Janine Langan and Rev. Fr. Leo Reilly, CSB, Ph.D., as well as to the many knowledgeable occasional advisors, prayerful friends, and the present committed committee of Grace Institute, i.e., Mr. Tony Ercolani, Mrs. Ann Rooney, and Mrs. Maria Portoraro. Praise and thanks be to the Most Holy Trinity and Its whole evangelical Marian, Eucharistic and Evangelical Family of Holy Angels and Saints!   (Oct. 22, 2018, *updated: May 25, 2020)

Vol. 10  Energy in the Philosophy of Teilhard de Chardin

Written in 1989, this work as it was is a contribution to the future development of Catholic Theology of Energies (Qis). In view of Teilhard's Prelife-Life-Thought-Superlife schema of Centrogenesis, evolving via the Cosmogenesis-Biogenesis-Noogenesis-Christogenesis process, his ideas can be explained through various kinds of energy, in particular in terms of the processive, unifying, energetic activation of the omnipresent Truth, Goodness, Beauty, and Holiness. Teilhard states: "It is around Christianity (considered in its 'phyletic', that is to say its Catholic, form) that the main axis of hominization is becoming ever more closely defined." (Christianity and Evolution, p. 186) Here are are some wonderful comments on Teilhard by St. Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI,  and Pope Francis  (Nov. 1, 2010, *updated June. 9, 2020)

Vol. 12  Catholic Theology and Spirituality: Some Vital Data

*Vol. 13   Concise Synoptic Models of the Salvation Process

*This work is a collection of many concise synoptic summary models of Salvation Process. It is being put together very slowly.

In view of the process of the Most Holy Trinity ad intra (towards or reaching inside), the Most Holy Trinity ad extra (towards or reaching outside), and the fulfillment of the Most Holy Trinity ad extra in the eschatological Heaven, this volume describes the Process of Salvation (or Salvation Process) in various models. As Lonergan tells us: "Metaphysics is the whole in knowledge but not the whole of knowledge." (Lonergan, Insight, 1973, p. 391) In this way, described in one to a few sentences, the author has metaphysically and theologically identified, recapitulated, and accumulated more than 300 models with respect to the Process of Salvation, e.g., Triniformation, Familization, Lumenization (Lumen in Latin means Light), Energization, Agapezation (Agape in Greek means Love). In addition, these processive models can be energized, making the Most Holy Trinity dynamic, all-embracing, all-permeating, all-transradiating, and thus transcosmically interactive with all creation, etc. One may even say that, as a whole, the development of Theology of Energy takes place within these different all-embracing forms of salvation processes. Praise be to the Most Holy Trinity!     (June 3, 2012, *updated March 17, 2023)

**Note: The author has officially retired from being a research writer since May 30, 2022. Very clearly, it is his God-given dream now to spend more time praying each day, rather than doing other things. Praise and thanks be to God!  (*Jan. 2, 2023)

Vol. 5. Introduction to the Research and Development of Chinese Catholic Theology of Qis  I

      天主教氣神學研究芻議 (上册) 什麽是天主教氣神學?為何要研究天主教氣神學?

This *present volume is divided into two major sections. The first major section deals with the major question “What is Catholic Theology of Qis?”  The second major section explores the major question "Why do we study Catholic Theology of Qis?" In retrospect, we may say that both this volume (Vol. 5) and the following volume (Vol. 6) which discusses the third major question "How do we do the research and Development of Catholic Theology of Qis?" have become the second edition of 中國氣神學發展之芻議 (A Proposal for Developing a Chinese Theology of Qis) published in 2003. Being a project of AITEA (Association of International Theology of Energies Authors), both Emeritus Prof. Carlo KWAN, University of Taiwan, and Rev. Prof. Joseph LI, Dean of the Hebei Catholic College of Theology and Philosophy, would graciously write a few encouraging words for this volume. A grateful word is also due to the six occasional advisors, i.e., Emeritus Prof. Carlo KWAN, Emeritus Rev. Prof. Mark FANG, S.J., Rev. Prof. Aloisius GUTHENIZ, S.J., Rev. Prof. Simon WONG, S.J., Emeritus John B. CHUANG, Dr. Paul KWONG, Dr.Sci., as well as Rev. Prof. Louis GENDRON, S.J.

Vol. 6  Introduction to the Research and Development of Chinese Catholic Theology of Qis  II

天主教氣神學研究芻議 (下册) Methodology of Chinese Catholic Theology of Qis 天主教氣神學方法論

Integrating varying research methods coherently into a systematic whole, the theological research methodology developed for the systematic development, as well as for the personal composition of research articles and theses, of this Catholic Theology is tentatively called Chinese Catholic Inculturational New Evangelical Ontological Qi Research Method (中華天主教本地化傳的存有氣論研究方法). It must be acknowledged that the new evangelical part is based on the concept of New Evangelization approved and promoted by St. Pope John-Paul II, Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis, as well as grounded upon Prof. Vincent Shen's well-known method of reaching out to others. Apparently, in the present New Millennium, there are New Signs of the time. Hence, New Methods are needed to bring the same Old Traditional Gospel of Christ to others. Accordingly, Rev. Prof. Aloisius GUTHENIZ, S.J., has become a special advisor for this project. Further, Prof. Carlo KWAN, Rev. Prof. Simon WONG, S.J., and Dr. Paul KWONG have also offered some notable advice.

The *first formal edition of this book is divided into 13 chapters..  Praise be to the Most Holy Trinity and Its whole Family of Holy Angels and Saints!   (*Update: May 12, 2022)

Vol. 7  Catholic Theology of Qis and the Future Development of Chinese Civilization (No. 2)  中華天主教氣神學與中華文明未來的發展(之二)

Apparently, Catholic Theology of Qis and the Future Development of Chinese Civilization (天主教氣神學與中未來文明的發展) is an amazing topic to many Chinese scholars. This *volume is advised by by Emeritus Prof. Bernard LI, former president of Fu Jen Catholic University. Dr. Paul KWONG, Dr.Sci., is also quite interested in being an occasional advisor. Vol. 9  Introduction to the Chinese Catholic Existential Spirituality of Qis  天主教存有氣靈修芻議

Proceeding from the truths of Divine Revelation, the sacred traditions of both the Eastern and Western Catholic Churches, as well as the religious or spiritual experience of individual persons, *this volume seeks to define the Catholic nature of the supernatural life, formulate directives for its growth and development, and explain the process by which the human spirit or soul advances towards its ultimate fulfillment in the Salvation Process which is being initiated, sustained and fulfilled through the divine grace/energy/qi of the Most Holy Trinity. Methodologically speaking, this existential (related to 'esse or existence') spiritual theology of qis, to a significant extent, is very much grounded upon the Chinese Vol. 6 Introduction to the Research and Development of Catholic Theology of Qis II above on the methodology of doing Catholic Theology of Qis
[After having completed finally the Chinese Vol. 6 and Vol. 9, it is time to announce the author's basic retirement from writing, taking therefore a long restful holiday. The reason is that, during his most recent retreat, he has discovered or rediscovered, as never before, the three stages of his life given by Providence: (1) childhood and youth; (2) adulthood --- in which he was trained as a teacher, in particular as a theological writer on Catholic Theology of Energies/Qis, and completed 21 books, 12 in English and 9 in Chinese; (3) retirement --- in which he is called to spend as much time as possible each day praying and resting contemplatively in Our Lord Jesus before the whole Divine Heavenly Family. Hence, unlike before, writing is no longer a serious priority according to God's holy will. Thank you all for all the visits to this site. Alleluia! Alleluia!]  (May 12, 2022, updated June 24, 2022)

 * Theology of Energy (Qi) or Energies (Qis) is a new renewing theology, in an attempt to help many to appreciate traditional theology as never before, i.e., in terms of "energy" or "qi" as a universal model of explanation. Apparently, there are at least five kinds of A Handbook of Theology of Energies: (1) The perfect one/ It exists only in the mind of God; (2) The present one/ Imperfect as it is, each volume may be viewed as a special handbook or outline to bring forth some of the best possible ideas of Theology of Energy to our attention according to that particular theme; (3) A better one/ As an individual volume, it has to wait until the author's next opportunity. As a whole series, a better Handbook of Theology of Energies has to wait for re-organization and further substantiation as a system after the present one is completed; (4) A better one of a better one/ It has to await further re-organization and re-substantiation after a better one is completed; (5) Other ones/ They are to be written by some other author(s), seeing that the present one or a better one (or a better one of a better one) is still imperfect. Hence, the present one is immensely important, for it serves to stimulate, among others, the increasing interest and passion of many towards this new renewing theology for the Catholic Church which we love. Apparently, by the grace of God (1Cor 1:31; 2Cor 10:17), this may be the only place in the world which is actively doing this Theology of Energies or Qis.  Praise be to the Most Holy Trinity and Its whole Marian and Eucharistic Family of Holy Angels and Saints.
