WCCCLC 2010:
simpliCharity 吾簡 ● 去愛: Live with less, Love more. Serve God
This year, our title and theme were inspired by a message from the Holy Father Benedict XVI addressed to the youths of the 25th World Youth Day in 2010.
"Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" (Mark 10:17)
As we live in the technology era, we have a tendency to complicate our lives with technological devices, and becoming more attached to our material possessions instead of simplifying ourselves to God through subtracting ourselves from these possessions to become closer to God by: living with less, loving more, and serving Him.
The key messages we want to convey at this year's camp are as follows:
- Know about your possessions
- Take away your comfort and step out of your comfort zone - Find God in Mortification
- Serve - Find God in Service
- New attitude towards your possessions and how to serve continuously in your daily life
If we do not simplify ourselves, how can we truly love and serve our God? We cannot; therefore, we should discern ourselves to discover who we are, reaching a higher level of love through serving out of charity in order to inherit eternal life. God is simple; God is great, so let us live our lives in simplicity.
