To travel with Jesus to Calvary has a universal appeal. It is a road well travelled by all who are drawn to answer His invitation to take up our cross daily and follow him.
These reflections on the Way of the Cross were written at the request of Most Rev. Dr. Morris, Archbishop of Cashel, for pilgrims to Holy Cross Abbey, which for centuries was a centre of devotion to the Holy Cross, and which again, through the initiative of Dr. Morris, has become a place of pilgrimage.
We are all pilgrims every day. Every moment of the Sacred Passion has a message and a grace, and to open this book at random could be a starting-point for our prayer as we take the road with Jesus to Calvary.
