. MISSION EMERGENCY

Mission Emergency
This committee was formed in early 1980 with Anita VanSlambrouck as chairperson, to provide an emergency source of food for needy people residing in our parish when they experience circumstances that leave them without adequate nourishment.

Each year, during the three holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas), we offer needy families of our parish a special bag of groceries to provide them with a nice holiday meal.

Our pantry is open to all families living in St. Mary’s Parish on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon.  Please park on the street and use the side entrance of the rectory.

. NEWS & NOTES

Please note: Please leave any donations of food in the breezeway between the church and the rectory.  Please do not leave bags of food in the vestibule of the church.  Thank you.

Thanksgiving
Thank you for the overwhelming response to our request for Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets.  Because of your generosity, we have exceeded our quota for Thanksgiving.  Food Baskets need to be brought to the Rectory on Monday morning, November 23rd.

Anyone living in our parish who would like to receive a Thanksgiving Dinner Basket can call the Rectory at 297-6261 to leave your name, address, phone number, number in your family and ages of children no later than Monday, November 16th.  The basket can be picked up at our pantry only on Monday, November 23rd, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Anyone wishing to volunteer to carry boxes of food into or out of the rectory basement on Monday, November 23rd, please call the Rectory at 297-6261.  The help will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support.

Your food donations, preferred on first Sundays, are always gratefully received and appreciated.

Because our space is small, we cannot stock a supermarket variety, so please use our donation guide:

  1. Give only fresh, packaged, basic types of food requiring no refrigeration.  Please check the expiration date before bringing items to the church!

  2. Place donation in double-bags (paper-in-paper or paper-in-plastic).
Please, do NOT tie plastic handles.

  3. If possible, give "most needed" foods (sometimes listed on Sunday prior to first Sunday).

 • Ketchup
