Opening Session - "Let's Pray to the Nines!"

Mary and the disciples spent nine days in prayer after the Ascension, preparing for the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.  The novena, or nine-day prayer, is a powerful tool in our prayer life. We will celebrate the feast day of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton by learning more about this ancient prayer form, and then take a look at our ADVENTUREs for the upcoming spring semester so you can register for our next round of courses.

7th & 8th Grade Overnight Retreat
Friday, January 19th (4:00 p.m.) - Saturday, January 20th (3:00 p.m.)
CYFM, Garrison, NY
Fee: $65.00 (registration through CYFM (Application Form))

This overnight retreat will be conducted by the staff at the Capuchin Youth and Family Ministry Center and is open to all students in the Archdiocese of New York.  It covers the Archdiocesan Curriculum unit on Morality.

Celebrate Leap Day with us as we reach out to those in need.  We will participate in the Stations of the Cross, and reflect on what it means to follow Jesus’ command to us to love one another as He loved us.

"Where's the Lamb?" From Meal to Meal...Seder to Eucharist...What Happened in Between??

Together we will explore the beginnings of our Christian Faith.  We will begin with a Seder and end with the Eucharistic meal followed by supper.  You will be amazed to see the connections between Seder and Eucharist!  We will be busy, busy and this will be fun, fun!!

Hook, slice, chip, drive & putt your way to heaven with grace while avoiding the sand traps of sin.  We will design our own mini-golf course and invite guest players as we swing our way through the sacraments.

Leading the Children, Part II
Saturday, April 12th    8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.    St. Mary's School Hall

Come lead the children who will celebrate their First Holy Communion this spring! You will help our staff lead the children through a retreat experience.  They will bake bread, sing songs, make a craft, see a movie, and learn about the special “dishes” used at Mass.

Counts as: Sacramental Life - Part I presented in the fall, required for credit.

Registration is limited to the first twelve students to apply!

The time has come…to return to Narnia! One year later for our heroes, 1300 years later for Narnia…a new age has begun.  Narnia has become a savage place, and the fate of all lies with the destiny of one.  Can Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy help Prince Caspian and his army of Talking Beasts free Narnia from evil?  Come find out as we read the C.S. Lewis’ classic book and then see the movie on opening night!!

**Prerequisite: You must read and/or watch "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe before attending this course.**

Come and celebrate with our students who have successfully completed the A.D.V.E.N.T.U.R.E. Program!!  We will also have some fun playing “Jeopardy” as we review all that we have learned this year!!  AND... we’ll close our year by celebrating the 5:30 Mass together.
