June 28, 2004 Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, As nature by its very flowers and ripening fruits reminds us of the year's ending so our liturgical activities moving through he cycle of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost to the cycle of the hopeful remembrance of those gone before us into that future life for which his present one is but a purification and preparation. Our journey has its stages, from birth, through babyhood, youthhood, man-womanhood, to maturity and passage to the life beyond. This final stage offers us that glorious, illuminating, and fulfilling term provided we have, as Jesus teaches us, striven to enter through the narrow door. The key to that narrow door is a life lived in harmony with His teaching in the path he has set out for us through His word and example.
