Unconditonal Love for God

First, we
love God out of fear of punishments.
Second,
we love God because of the countless gifts which
God would grant us, such as consolations in prayer, blessings
in our life, peace in our family and going to Heaven, etc.
Third,
we love God unconditionally, even in the midst
of all kinds of sicknesses, failures, losses, disasters, calamities,
desolations, death of loved ones, etc. (cf. Rom 8:35-39; and the
story of Job in the Old Testament). We love God even knowing that
we will surely end up in Hell. We love God and continue to do
our daily prayers even knowing that we will remain forever in
the beginning grades of prayer on earth.
Indisputably, it is only our unconditional love for God which can truly please God and give us true inner freedom.
