Christ's
Revelations on Hell

"If
your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw
it away; it is better for you to enter life maimed or lame than
with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away;
it is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two
eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire." (Mt 18:8-9 RSV)

"And do
not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather
fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell." (Mt
10:28 RSV)

"Then
he will say to those at his left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed,
into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."
(Mt 25:41 RSV)

"The rich
man also died and was buried; and in Hades, being in torment,
he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abrham far off and Lazarus in his
bosom. And he called out, 'father Abraham, have mercy upon me,
and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool
my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame." (Lk 16:22-24
RSV)

"The Son
of man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom
all evildoers, and throw them into the furnace of fire; there
men will weep and gnash their teeth." (Mt 13:41-43 RSV)

"But I
say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall
be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable
to the council, and whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be liable
to the hell of fire." (Mt 5:22 RSV)

"Every
tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into
the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits." (Mt 7:19-20
RSV)

"I am
the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in
them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.
Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away like a branch and
withers; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and
burned." (Jn 15:5-6 NRSV)

"And if
your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out; it is better for
you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two
eyes and to be thrown into hell, where their worm never dies,
and the fire is never quenched." (Mt 9:47-48 NRSV)

"As for
this worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness, where
there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Mt 25:30 NRSV)

"Then
he will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, just as you did not do
it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' And
these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous
into eternal life." (Mt 25:45-46 NRSV)
