If prayer is defined as communication and union with God, then the communication and union among the Three Uncreated Divine Persons, i.e., among God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit within the Most Holy Trinity in uncreated eternity might be called the Uncreated Prayer. All that we know about the Uncreated Prayer is that:
a) it is the eternal, infinite, uncreated, most holy, most loving, and most intimate communication and union among the Three Uncreated Divine Persons within the Most Holy Trinity ad intra in eternity;
b) it is the archetype or prototype of all communications and unions with God in creation outside of the Most Holy Trinity ad intra, i.e., in the reaching out of the Most Holy Trinity ad extra to us creatures;
c) its whole essence is forever
incomprehensible to all creatures, even to all the Holy Angels
and Saints in Heaven.
