Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ: Happy New Year! Today is the Feast of the Holy Mother of God. How much, then, should we love Mary? As Mother Theresa said once, one should love Mary as much as Jesus would. At the same time, of course, one should love Jesus as much as Mary would. In this way, a healthy balance is gained spiritually. Alleluia!

March 1

Apparently, there are two groups of people in the world doing Theology of Energy. One has been leading people away from Christ and the Church, while the other has been guiding people to Christ and the Church. The New Agers clearly belong to the former (cf. A Call to Vigilance: Pastoral Instruction on the New Age by Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera). At the same time, Eastern Christian writers like St. Basil, St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. Gregory Nazianzus, St. John Damascene, St. Anthonasius, St. Gregory Palamas, St. Symeon, Prof. V. Lossky, Rev. J. Meyendorff, Rev. P.T. Bilaniuk, Rev. C. Kukarek, Rev. K. Ware, Archbishop J.M. Raya, and Rev. G. Maloney, S.J., and the author, etc., belong to the latter. Based on their insights, as well as those of Rev. A. Chiang, S.J., Prof. V. Shen, Prof. J. Chan, Rev. L. Gutheinz, S.J., Rev. B. Lu, S.J., Prof. W.J. Kwang, Prof. T. Wong, Prof. J. Chuang, and Rev. Sr. L.-K. Kwong, etc., acquired through Fu Jen Catholic University, Theology of Energy (or Qi) is further developed here, hopefully, for the purpose of the whole Divine Heavenly Family, i.e., the Most Holy Trinity together with Its whole Family of Holy Angels and Saints.  In a way, thinking in terms of energy or qi as its central cultural paradigm, this Theology has been breathing with the two lungs or mainstreams of the Church (Western and Eastern Christianity) as Pope John-Paul II stated in 1995 in his apostolic letter “Ut unum sint That All May Be One.”

March 20-22 (Triduum)

Cosmically, the Blessed Sacrament as the unshakable living Foundation and Transformation of all creation awaits further study by scholars, observation by mystics, and discovery by countless.  At the same time, the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ have not happened in vain. As it is never too late to experience the awesome power of the Resurrection on earth, at least as a little foretaste, one may make the Novena to the Divine Mercy. Google “Divine Mercy” or visit http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/index.htm. Alleluia!

In a way, salvation process is a process of Familization, in which the whole human family is invited to become family members (or sisters and brothers) of the Divine Heavenly Family, forever and forever. If so, Familization is also Fatherization in which the whole human family is to  embrace God the Father as the Father. At the same time, Familization, to an appropriate extent, is also Motherization in which the whole humanity is to adopt Our Heavenly Mother as Our Heavenly Mother. As the Mother of Christ and Queen of the Universe, she is also the Queen of Heaven and Mother of all the adopted and beloved sisters and brothers of Christ, forever and ever.

July 1

Simply, there are three rules for discernment in life. 1) What is God doing (in my life, etc.)? 2) What am I doing? 3) How do I faithfully respond to or co-operate with God? For discerning wisdom, a word of gratitude is due to Rev. J. Calle, S.J., Rev. F. Budenholzer, SVD, Rev. C. Elias, S.J., Rev. M. Christian, SVD, and Rev. J. Duffy, MH, etc.

September 1

While Theology of Energy is more for the West, Theology of Qi is more for the East. Hopefully, more sharing is coming. As regards the development of Theology of Energy, a word of gratitude is long due also to Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist, Rev. J. Perry, S.J., Rev. M. Lapierre, S.J., Prof. J. Langan and Prof. T. Langan, as well as St. Francis Prayer Group, Quo Vadis, and Immanuel Prayer Group, etc.
